The School of Philosophy Wednesday Lectures

A Free Public Lecture Series organised by the School of Philosophy at ACU National

Each year the School of Philosophy runs a free public lecture series addressing a theme or issue of contemporary relevance and importance for the community. The series hosts a different invited speaker each Wednesday night for six weeks, and seeks to present the issue from a diverse range of expert perspectives, and in the spirit of philosophical questioning.

The series, which has become known to many as ‘The Wednesday Lectures’, has led to various publications, including the collection of essays, Why the War Was Wrong? (Melbourne: Text Publishing, 2003). A number of the presented lectures have also been broadcast on ABC Radio National and published in the popular media.
