Welcome to the Institute of Legal Studies
Thank you for your interest in the Institute of Legal Studies (ILS) and ACU National.
The ILS is a national institute of the University established to:
- provide continuing legal education,
- provide postgraduate courses relating to the law to advance students across an array of professions,
- conduct research, and
- engage with the community, including rural and regional areas.
The Institute offers programs throughout Australia and has a particular focus on issues of justice, ethical practice and the intersection of law and faith, within the academic context.
The ILS provides postgraduate education in various aspects of legal studies, conducts research, and offers continuing professional development for lawyers and for other professionals requiring professional development activities with legal input. If you have identified a need for legal training within your organization, please contact me so that we can discuss ways in which the Institute may be of assistance to you in providing that training using the capabilities of ACU National.
In addition, the Institute reaches out to the community by way of public lectures and symposia.
