Grace Cousley
Growing up in Horsham Regional Victoria, Ballarat Campus student Grace Cousley has always been inspired by her family’s commitment to teaching and hoped to follow in their footsteps.
She was therefore delighted when she was accepted into the Bachelor of Education course at ACU through the Early Achievers’ Program.
The popular program, now in its third year, offers places to students who demonstrate a commitment to their communities as well as their studies.
“I had always wanted to be a teacher and I love working with children,” Grace said. “The Early Achievers’ Program really lessened the stress for me in year 12, as I still studied hard but I knew my community contributions would also be taken into account.”“It also gave me the chance to be accepted into my course earlier than most,” she added.
Grace’s community contributions included working at her local childcare centre, playing high school team sports, and participating in local community football and netball teams.
