Scholarships
Five type of competitive scholarships to support postgraduate research study are available. Applicants are generally assessed on academic merit and research experience. Scholarships may also be available through Schools and Faculties, or external sources. These include the University's external partners, JASON, the Australian postgraduate scholarship database, Australian Scholarships, an initiative of the Australian Government to promote development in the Asia-Pacific region and AusAID, for students from developing countries.
Scholarships provide either a fee remission or living allowance or both. Living allowance scholarships are valued at A$20,427 per annum in 2009.
Applicants for scholarship will only be considered if they have also submitted an application for research candidature or are already enrolled as a Higher Degree Research student at ACU National. Domestic students
1. Australian Postgraduate Award (APA)
| Eligibility: | Must have a Bachelors degree with first class honours or equivalent |
| Study-mode: | Full-time only |
| Value: | Living allowance |
| Closing date: | October 31 each year |

2. Australian Catholic University Postgraduate Award (ACUPA)
| Eligibility: | Must have completed tertiary studies equivalent to a four year honours degree, with minimum second class honours or equivalent |
| Study-mode: | Full-time only |
| Value: | Living allowance |
| Closing date: | October 31 each year |

3. Indigenous Scholarships
There are several indigenous scholarships available for postgraduate study. Please visit the Indigenous Scholarships website for further information and how to apply.
| Eligibility: | Must be an indigenous student enrolled or commencing a postgraduate course at ACU National |
| Study-mode: | Full-time only |
| Value: | Lump sum payment, amount varies depending on scholarship |
| Closing date: | 7 March 2010 |
4. Australian Catholic University Completion Scholarship
This six month scholarship is offered twice yearly.
| Eligibility: | Must be within six months of thesis submission of a higher degree research degree, have demonstrated excellent progress in candidature with support from supervisors |
| Study-mode: | Must undertake full-time study if awarded scholarship |
| Value: | Living allowance |
| Closing date: | May 15 and October 31 each year |

International students
5. International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS)
| Eligibility: | Must meet selection criteria for admission, have demonstrated excellent research background and output, relevant work experience |
| Study-mode: | Full-time only |
