Enhancing Research Capability
Outside Studies Program (OSP) and Internal Research Secondments (IRS)
Australian Catholic University seeks to maintain the highest standards of education quality by fostering the intellectual and professional development of its academic staff. Members of the academic staff should be encouraged to continue their professional development. The Outside Studies Program (OSP) and Internal Research Secondments (IRS) for Academic Staff (PDF 177KB) is a means by which academic staff can engage in a period of continuous research/scholarship and/or professional practice appropriate to the staff member's employment responsibilities in order to enhance their research/scholarship productivity, teaching, creative works, qualifications and/or professional status.
International Conference Travel Grants
Funds will be set aside in the budget each year to provide some financial assistance for members of staff who are invited to attend international conferences. It is intended that the funds should be used for short visits specifically to attend an international conference at which the staff member will play a significant role. For further information refer to the International Conference Travel Grant Guidelines and Application (DOC 137KB).
Research Awards for Women Academic Staff
As an affirmative action strategy, the University is committed to the ongoing support of women academic staff who resume work at ACU following a period of approved leave in association with the birth of an infant or adoption of a pre-school age child. These Awards are designed to assist women academic staff to re-establish their research profile consistent with the strategic directions of the University and the individual staff members career. For further information refer to the Research Awards for Women Academic Staff Policy (PDF 50KB).
