Statistical Support for Staff and Research Degree Students

ACU has developed a Staff Statistical and Software Support list (PDF 54KB), which is intended to help staff members and students to find statistical support for their research projects.  Statistical advice and support is not always readily available within a School or Faculty and occasionally researchers and research students need to seek assistance from outside of their immediate area.

ACU has a number of staff members who are willing and able to assist others with their needs and it is important that advice is sought in the early project planning stage. Early advice is needed to ensure that projects are appropriately set up to enable a rigorous data analysis to be undertaken to support research findings.

The University is keen to ensure that research students and research staff have the training support they need to complete projects.  As gaps are identified, the University will review needs with a view to contracting statistical consultants in the short term for non-specialist needs.  Approaches for such support should be made through the Faculty Associate Dean Research.  High end specialist statistical support may be required on a discipline basis and individual Faculties and Faculty staff are expected to respond to such needs.

We hope that this list will be as up to date as possible, so if there are any additions or deletions, please contact sandra.johnson1@acu.edu.au to organise any changes.
