This unit builds on marketing knowledge and principles to identify and review strategies relevant to sport and exercise. Some topics reviewed include criteria for effective market segmentation, market research and product development. Some emphasis is placed on strategies for information management and communication with internal and external markets. Promotional tools such as advertising, publicity, incentives are analysed. Strategies for corporate sponsorship fundraising and public relations are identified.
