EXSC320 Advanced Biomechanics
10 cp
Prerequisites EXSC220 Biomechanics
Teaching Organisation 24 hours of lectures and 24 hours of tutorials/practical per semester.
The effective application of biomechanics to prevent injury and enhance performance requires the individual to be well-informed and knowledgeable on biomechanical theories, movement analysis techniques, and the scientific literature. This unit therefore fosters the development of knowledge and skills required for professional practice in exercise and sport science, with a focus upon biomechanics. Knowledge gained in foundation and core studies on the mechanics of exercise and sport science will be extended though, for example, advanced kinetic and kinematic concepts and an examination of the material properties of sports surfaces and equipment.
