EXSC141 Training and Conditioning Principles

Teaching Organisation 24 hours of lectures and 24 hours of tutorials/practical per semester.
This unit introduces the influence of exercise upon the quality of daily functioning involved as a human moves. The scientific principles of exercise during sport performance are applied and exercise as an agent for rehabilitation from injury is also investigated. In particular, strength and resistance training is applied from a lifespan perspective to example the concepts of exercise specificity, measurement of exercise quality, program planning and prescription to achieve specific goals. Students will be challenged to design a specific personal program based upon their current participation in exercise.
