ETHN217 Economic Development in Asia

Prerequisites 1 Asian Studies unit at introductory 100-level
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for 12 weeks or equivalent.
East Asia, and recently South Asia, provide good case studies for the study of economic development in the region. This unit helps students to understand the increasingly important role that Asia plays in relationships with economies of other countries. The unit may also provide a basis for understanding developing economies in other parts of the world, such as the transition economies in the former Soviet Union.
