Prerequisites 1 Literature unit at introductory 100-level
Teaching Organisation A range of teaching procedures including lectures, tutorials, and screenings will be used.
This unit will introduce students to gothic and romantic texts, in prose and verse, by English and American authors from the late eighteenth to the early twentieth centuries. It will consider issues concerning the audience, language, and literary imagination of either genre, as well as investigating in detail the relationship between gothic and romantic sensibilities and texts.
