This unit addresses the major issues affecting the shape and character of commerce and business education, such as the relationship between school and work, transition to work and /or higher education, lifelong learning, questions of gender and equity, multicultural policy and the recognition of the values, beliefs and traditions of particular groups. Students will explore the way in which the learning needs of a wide range of students in secondary school can be met through innovative curriculum design that engages students in experiential community- based programs. Particular attention is focused on program designs such as the Student Action Teams: Learning in the Community.
