EDPH414 Physical Education Curriculum and Teaching 1

This unit examines teaching and learning strategies relevant to the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of a comprehensive Physical Education curriculum including Health components. This unit of study is designed in accordance with the recommendations included in the state curriculum documents, which recognises the unique contribution of Physical Education and Health Studies in promoting the physical, social, mental and emotional health of individual, families and communities. Through a combination of theoretical and practical experiences, students will extend their curriculum competence and practical skills required for effective teaching in Physical Education and Health, in a secondary school environment (years 7-10). At the completion of this unit students will be able to incorporate listening, reading and writing learning activities in the design of their learning and assessment strategies in years 7–10.
