ACCT600 Accounting for Decision-Making
10 cp
Prerequisites Nil
Teaching Organisation 3 hours per week for 12 weeks or equivalent.
This unit takes as its theme the use of accounting information for decision-making. All of you will be members of organisations - businesses, government departments, universities, charities, religious organisations, sporting clubs, social clubs - which share a common problem: limited resources are available for pursuing organisational goals. As a consequence, managers are regularly confronted by the need to make important economic decisions. Accounting information is usually a vital input to those decisions. Hence, you, as a manager who will be involved in the decision-making process, need to know how to use accounting information in making economic decisions. To make many decisions in an effective way, you need to become “accounting literate”.
