Progression of Students from Courses Offered by External Educational Providers to ACU National Academic Programs
The role of the Office of Articulation is to establish, and manage, agreements with other educational providers to facilitate the transition of students from those bodies into ACU National academic programs. The Office of Articulation, based in Melbourne, undertakes this work for all faculties, courses and campuses of ACU National. Articulation agreements typically stipulate the nature and extent of academic credit available to students or graduates of specified programs offered by external educational providers who enroll in ACU National courses. Agreements may be established with public (e.g., TAFE colleges or universities) or private providers (Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)) operating in Australia or other countries. Progression ("articulation") may, for example, be from a diploma program offered by another educational provider into a degree program offered by ACU National, and in some cases into Diploma programs offered by ACU National.
Information as to the nature of articulation agreements established with particular external educational providers, the courses concerned, and levels of academic credit available may be ascertained by searching the relevant elements of the Articulation Database set out below. (Please note that in exceptional cases where a student's prior studies do not fully conform to the program contained in an agreement, the level of credit granted may be subject to the judgment of the relevant Course Coordinator for the program concerned.)
Academic Credit Where an Articulation Agreement Does Not Exist
Even if your course or RTO is not listed in the database, you may still apply for academic credit on an individual basis once you have enrolled in a program offered by ACU National. Credit may be sought by filling out the form, Application for Credit/Recognition of Prior Learning, (called the "CR form"). Obtain a copy of the "CR form"(PDF, 72kb).
Articulation Database
The database contains three separate components:
- Click here to search the Academic Articulation Database to identify external educational providers and academic courses which enable articulation into ACU National academic programs.
- Click here to search the English Articulation Database to identify English language courses which enable articulation into ACU National academic programs.
- Click here to search the ADF (Australian Defence Force) Database (only relevant to ADF personnel to identify ACU National programs for which specific articulation agreements have been established).
