Sashika Jayewardene is Higher Education Policy Advisor in the Office of Government, Policy and Strategy. Her role is focused on providing advice and analysis on developments in the external higher education policy environment and informing ACU’s contributions to the development of public policy with respect to higher education. Sashika joined ACU in 2010 in the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. She has also worked with the University’s General Counsel. She taught ACU’s Core Curriculum in 2013 and 2014. Prior to joining ACU, Sashika was engaged in research and project-based roles, and has also worked as a legal clerk in NSW community legal centres.
Sashika is a qualified lawyer. She holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce with Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Macquarie University, and a Master of Laws from The University of Sydney, where she was recipient of the London Court of International Arbitration Prize from Sydney Law School.
