22 March 2010: Australian Catholic University (ACU) has joined forces with the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA) to help commencing students from regional areas.

Australian Catholic University (ACU) has joined forces with the Country Education Foundation of Australia (CEFA) to help commencing students from regional and rural areas.
Under the partnership, commencing undergraduate students who receive support from their local CEFA will also receive a $200 book voucher from the University.
CEFA is a national not-for-profit organisation that provides regional communities with the know-how and support required to establish their own local Education Foundations. These foundations in turn provide grants to local youth who are leaving school and need a helping hand in order to make the transition into further education or their chosen vocation a successful one.
Professor Anne Cummins, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students, Learning and Teaching) at ACU, said she was aware of the additional hurdles faced by many regional school leavers wanting to access higher education.
“I am delighted that through this relationship with CEFA we can in some way help these students achieve their goal of higher education,” she said.
More than a dozen CEFA students from around the country are studying at Australian Catholic University campuses.
