Reverend Michael J. Garanzini, S.J

Reverend Michael J. Garanzini, S.J., became chancellor of Loyola University Chicago on July 1. From 2001 until June of this year, he served as president of Loyola.
Since 2011, Father Garanzini he has concurrently served as the Secretary for Higher Education for the Society of Jesus, coordinating and championing Jesuit higher-education issues around the world.
A St. Louis native, Father Garanzini received his BA in psychology from Saint Louis University (SLU) in 1971 and a doctorate in psychology and religion from the Graduate Theological Union/University of California, Berkeley, in 1986.
