Professor Craven commenced as Vice-Chancellor in February 2008. An expert in public law, he has published numerous journal articles and four books, is a member of the Interim National Catholic Education Commission (NCEC) and of the Truth, Justice and Healing Council and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG). Professor Craven was Foundation Dean and Professor of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
Professor Pauline Nugent
Professor Nugent became ACU’s inaugural provost in June 2012, providing academic leadership across all five faculties. Professor Nugent was Head of the School of Nursing at Deakin University from 1997 and appointed inaugural Chair of Nursing Development at Deakin University in 2003. Professor Nugent joined ACU in 2007 as Dean of Health Sciences and in 2011 became Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
Dr Stephen Weller
Chief Operating Officer
Dr Weller was appointed to this position in November 2012 following more than 20 years experience in tertiary education across five universities in three states. He holds a PhD in Organisational Justice from Victoria University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Master of Commerce, Employment Relations from the University of Western Sydney.
Dr John Ballard
Dr Ballard is responsible for the Melbourne campus of ACU. Dr Ballard joined ACU following more than 20 years experience in the health and aged care industries including 11 years as Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Health, and a further eight years with the Sisters of Charity Health Services.
Professor Anne Cummins
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Students, Learning and Teaching
Since being appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor in July 2009, Professor Cummins has provided leadership in support of students in engagement with all aspects of university life and progressing to employment in their chosen professions, drawing on her expertise in educational leadership and renewal. Prior to this role Professor Cummins was Dean of Students at ACU.
Professor Wayne McKenna
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research
Professor McKenna was appointed in September 2012 after holding a range of roles at the University of Western Sydney for more than 12 years. His recent research focus is on the impact of the digital age on the humanities and he has also held positions at the University of Geneva and the University of Toulouse.
Reverend Father Anthony Casamento CSMA
Director of Identity and Mission
Father Anthony was appointed to this role in September 2011, prior to which he served as Chaplain on the North Sydney campus of ACU. Father Anthony is a member of the Michaelite Fathers. His academic area of interest is The Shoah (Holocaust). Prior to joining the priesthood, Father Anthony held a number of strategic roles at the University of New South Wales, including Executive Officer to the Vice Chancellor and President.
