Edmund Rice Camps Brisbane delivers 6 camps per year where children from the local community are referred by organisations to attend the unique experience.
Volunteers are recruited from a variety of schools and universities to act as one-to-one mentors and leaders providing a positive role model.
Camps are 5 days long and include all training and orientation as well as a variety of games and team building activities.
There are 6 camps available, all in state school holidays:
Volunteers come from all over and no set skills or qualifications are required.
As a volunteer you will be matched with a child aged between 6 and 16.
You will be there ‘buddy’ for the week, acting as a role model, playing games, participating in program activities, meal times etc.
You will have plenty of free time throughout the week and meet some amazing people, all committed to the program and it’s outcomes.
