Dance Mum Squad is a program for young mothers that provides a safe space in the community for them to get together. The program starts with a thirty minutes class of African dancing followed by another thirty minutes dedicated to education, training and employment pathway support. This includes looking into courses and employment as well as having guest speakers who have had a similar experience to them but made some positive change in their lives.
Support with supervising the children whilst the mothers are dancing or participating. This will be in the same space as the mothers (or in the outside area which is still visible to the mothers), however the mothers are still ultimately responsible for their children.
Assist in setting and packing up the space.
Build rapport with the mothers and provide a welcoming space.
