ACU's Barefoot Nurses program trains local nurses, pharmacists and health care workers to be more adequately informed and equipped when caring for people in isolated regions of Baucau, Timor-Leste.
As part of her degree, Bachelor of International Development Studies student Madeleine Whitby completed an immersion experience in East Timor. Hooked on development work, she now volunteers at Palms International.
