Global Experience is a Home Stay provider with experience in both Sydney and Melbourne.
They work with thousands of families and students each year, matching the right people together. Home Stay is all about people and GE understands this well.
All families are visited by a Global Experience co-ordinator, complete police checks and are fully insured. Student surveys are completed on a regular basis and these provide the foundation for selecting GE's Host Family of the Month. Every month a GE family who's been outstanding as a Host is recognised, their story is featured in GE's newsletter and they receive a Thank You gift from GE, acknowledging all their good work with their students.
This allows tremendous peace of mind for all concerned.
Students pay $260/week for board which includes breakfast and dinner for seven (7) days a week with a light lunch on the weekend.
A dedicated study area is provided and internet is arranged as a private agreement between the student and family. Typically a charge of $7- $10 is applied per week.
Payments are done 1 month in advance and the first month's payment and placement fee are non refundable. After that the student may choose to move out providing they give two (2) weeks notice of their intentions.
Care has been taken to ensure the founding beliefs inherent to ACU are reflected in the service provided by Global Experience. Students are encouraged to participate in meals with the family and to have good communication with them. The families are to be responsible and supportive of the challenges facing students studying in a new environment.
