Staff awarded inaugural ACU citations
Education lecturer Rachael Jacobs
Education lecturer Rachael Jacobs and the Step Up Into Teaching (SUIT) team were recently awarded the inaugural ACU Citations by the Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC).
Ms Jacobs was recognised for ‘the promotion of student learning through innovative approaches to assessment, evaluation and feedback’ in arts education and pre-service education studies.
The SUIT team, composed of Dr Elizabeth Labone, Mrs Miriam Tanti, Mr John Maskell and Mrs Claudia Fam, were recognised for ‘increasing engagement and academic self-efficacy of first year higher education students from low socio-economic backgrounds’.
ACU Citations are designed to recognise and reward staff who make significant contributions to student learning at the University. The award is open to individuals as well as teams with an amount of $2,000 awarded for the winners.
Winners of ACU Citations are judged on their achievements in influencing student learning and increasing student engagement or the overall student experience. These achievements also must have gained recognition from fellow staff, the institution, and/or the broader community and have been sustained for a period of three years or longer at ACU.
Congratulations to all the winners.
