60 Seconds - Dr Patricia Hansen
Dr Patricia Hansen is Head of the School of Social Work and is based at the University's Strathfield Campus.
How would I spend my ideal day?
Playing mindless computer games.
In life I have learnt…
To be gentle with myself, accept the many changes that come along, and be ready for anything.
Something that inspires me...
The struggles and pain that people endure as they live through trauma and loss.
What would surprise most people about my job?
How busy it is.
What has been the most significant development in my field since starting my career?
The amount of research that is being done in general and the significant achievements of my colleagues in Australia and around the world.
If I could invite any five people to dinner, who would they be and why?
My partner Frank because he is gorgeous; Peter Pecora because he is a superhero in social science research; Rick Barth because he is another super research mind; Justice Michael Kirby to discuss his dissenting judgments; and Imogen Cooper who plays Mozart perfectly.
