Mentoring for research
A Mentoring for Researchers program, designed to develop the skills of ACU researchers and to enhance their research capabilities, recently commenced at the North Sydney Campus (MacKillop).
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) Professor Gail Crossley, welcomed participants to the first two-day workshop of the pilot program on 11-12 August.
The program is facilitated by Emeritus Professor Alan Johnson AM and aims to accelerate participants research productivity, to advance their careers and professional recognition, and to achieve personal growth and self-confidence.
With a total of four workshops, topics covered will include career planning, selection of research areas, research collaboration, industry collaboration, networking, relationship building and maintenance, conference attendance, publishing strategies, funding sources, grant applications, scholarships, awards, measures of esteem, selling research accomplishments, curriculum vitae, and professionalism.
