Centre for Early Christian Studies awards professor

The Brisbane Campus’ (McAuley at Banyo) Centre for Early Christian Studies recently awarded Professor Johan Leemans the title of Honorary Distinguished Visiting Research Fellowship.
Professor Leemans, who was visiting the University  thanks to sponsorship from Dr Bronwen Neil and funding from the Institute for the Advancement of Research, is a Professor of Early Church History and Patrology at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium.

During his visit to the campus, Professor Leemans delivered a lecture on Gregory of Nyssa’s first homily on love for the poor.

Professor Leemans also officially launched Dr Bronwen Neil’s new book in the Routledge Early Church Fathers series, Leo the Great (London-New York 2009).
