International students welcomed to Canberra Campus
Associate Professor Patrick McArdle, Canberra Campus (Signadou) Dean, recently welcomed international students to the University.
In his welcome address, Professor McArdle said he hoped the new students would enjoy their stay in Canberra and that they would come to like Vegemite.
A lunch was hosted by the International Office, which offered unique Australian flavours - cheese and Vegemite sandwiches, lamingtons and Anzac biscuits.
Each international student received a welcome pack and bunch of Australian flowers from the Office of Student Success.
Emily Leite, International Student Adviser for ACT & NSW, spoke to the students and answered any queries they had about their study.
“I was very excited to come and speak with the international students at the Canberra Campus,” she said. “We were able to learn where the students have come from, a little about their cultures and appreciate the diversity that the students bring to the campus.”
