ACU’s Centre for Nursing Research receives grant

St Vincent's and ACU’s Centre for Nursing Research were recently awarded the prestigious Ella Lowe Grant research grant valued at up to $50,000.

The Nurses Board of Victoria established the Ella Lowe Grant in honour of Ella Lowe's significant contribution to nursing education, research and management.
 
The grant will fund a research project led by Dr Karen Page, in association with Professor Linda Worrall-Carter, Dr Karen-Leigh Edward and St Vincent's Cardiologist, Dr Andrew Wilson.

The study will establish a Nurse-led (CVD) Risk Intervention Screening Clinic (NL-RISC) for cardiovascular disease that could be used as a model of care for risk-factor modification in other settings. This study will be undertaken at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne.
