Roundtable discussions focus on contributions of the not-for-profit sector

The University's Canberra Campus (Signadou) recently hosted Catholic Church community members in a roundtable discussion with Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald and Jennie Gordon - for the Productivity Commission's Review of the Contribution of the Not-For-Profit (NFP) sector.

The discussion provided the opportunity for Catholic Health Australia, Catholic Social Services Australia, St Vincent de Paul Society, Centacare Canberra, Carroll and O’Dea Lawyers and senior staff of the University to inform the Commission of key issues and possible ways forward to benefit the sector.

Participants called for a new relationship with government: a relationship which empowered the sector in its service of the community particularly those who are disadvantaged, and was based on a high level of mutual trust and recognition.
