Preserving Optimism exhibition
Art exhibitions at Melbourne Campus
Postcards for Peace - an international exhibition exploring notions of peace - inspired students, staff and the public last week when it featured at the University’s Melbourne Campus (St Patrick’s).
The journey of 21 postcard-sized artworks began in Gosford, NSW in 2007. The exhibition has now grown to a collection of 55 works by internationally recognised artists, emerging artists and fine arts students.
The exhibition shows greetings and messages from varying geographies and time zones, offering glimpses into different worlds.
The Melbourne ACU Art Gallery is currently showing the Preserving Optimism exhibition, which features works created through the University’s Community Engagement Art Workshops.
Over the past semester, Visual Art and Design students have volunteered their time to help people from marginalised, disadvantaged and refugee backgrounds to learn new skills and create unique works of art.
The exhibition is open weekdays from 11am - 4pm, until Wednesday 15 July. Entry is free.
