Staff Profile: Danielle Ferguson
Working as the Marketing and Communications Officer at the Ballarat Campus (Aquinas) of Australian Catholic University, Danielle Ferguson recognises the benefits of offering regional students comprehensive information on tertiary study, courses and career pathways. When we interviewed Danielle she described herself as friendly, enthusiastic and gave us a little insight into herself.
How would you spend your ideal day?
Travelling the world to all the places I’ve never seen, eating brilliant food, swimming in crystal clear oceans, learning to cook new exotic foods and gardening.
In life I have learnt...
That persistence really does pay off and that by being myself and approaching my work in a friendly and personable manner allows me to achieve great results and be proud of who I am and what I do.
A book/movie/song that inspires me is...
Anything written by Jane Green. Her books make me laugh, cry and reflect on life in general. I love any book that I can lose time in and really get involved in the story.
What would surprise people most about your job?
That my position and duties constantly change. My duties can vary from taking photographs, liaising with current students, liaising with high schools to making coffee, writing media articles and conducting mail outs.
If you could invite any five people to dinner who would they be?
Julia Roberts (inspirational), Carson Kressley (personality and style tips), Andrew Denton (intellect and humour), Jamie Oliver (for cooking tips) and The Dalai Lama (self explanatory).
