Professor Campbell has been the recipient of numerous internal and external teaching and research grants, including her current role as lead in two funded Health Workforce Australia projects to increase clinical training capacity, valued at $9 million.
Her external engagements include executive member of the Council of Deans of Nursing and Midwifery (Australia and New Zealand) and member and past chair of the Victorian and Tasmanian Deans of Nursing and Midwifery.
Her scholarly record includes publications and conferences in nursing education, pulmonary rehabilitation and disease self-management, and she has supervised research students at Doctoral and Master’s level.
Professor Campbell said she was excited to get started in her new role and was looking forward to providing leadership to the Faculty.
“It is a privilege to be appointed Executive Dean and it will be wonderful to guide the faculty in this exciting and busy time,” she said. “Our course profile is constantly expanding and we are investing heavily in state-of-the-art health facilities to ensure we can deliver a practical and rich learning experience for our students.”
ACU’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Craven said Professor Campbell brings great leadership and skill to the role.
“In her roles, Professor Campbell has demonstrated an outstanding ability to lead an ever-expanding academic unit and manage competing internal and external demands,” he said. “I am grateful for her work, and would like to congratulate and welcome Professor Campbell to this key leadership position.”
Professor Campbell has served as Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery (VIC) since 2004, and was Head of School of Nursing (NSW, ACT) from mid-2009 until February 2011. She has been acting in the role of Executive Dean since February.
