The official welcome to all new students will be a mix of informative, educational and festival activities designed to help ease the transition to university life.

As well as signing up for clubs and societies, participating in games and ice-breaker sessions, first year students will have the chance to meet University staff and their fellow classmates.

They will also be offered guidance on how to learn and study in a university environment, and receive tips on surviving the challenges of university life through a series of lectures and tours.

Professor Greg Craven, Vice-Chancellor at ACU, said Orientation was the best place to get all the information you need to successfully navigate your first year at the University.

“Starting out at university can be quite a daunting experience,” he said. “Students who attend Orientation Week will not only have the chance to make new friends, but will have all the information they need for their first day of class - where to go, how to login to computers, and where to go for help and advice.”

“There is always a fantastic vibe on campus during Orientation Week, and I look forward to meeting as many new students as I can.”
