Summary
This course is not available for international students except in limited cases.
Description
This course will provide students with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the sources and methods of ethical reasoning and the reflective processes that are intrinsic to the study of ethics. No previous study of ethics is presupposed. Students may specialise in health care ethics.
The course will be offered to qualified experienced professionals. It seeks to provide opportunities for a critical and effective interdisciplinary study of practical ethics. The course is particularly designed for people with leadership or educational roles in health and aged care. The course:
- aims to equip students to engage in reasoned and well-informed debate on the ethical issues implicit in and arising from their professional work;
- considers the range of ethical perspectives and religious traditions that inform ethical decision-making in contemporary Australia;
- provides the opportunity for extended research into particular aspects of business ethics, professional ethics and health care that reflect a candidates interest.
