It is my pleasure as Dean to welcome you to the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy at Australian Catholic University.

We hope that the information on our website will be very useful to you and that you will be encouraged and inspired to come and share our passion for all things theological and philosophical.

Our Faculty takes great pride in the quality and quantity of its research. Our areas of particular research strength are biblical studies, systematic theology, early Christian studies, philosophy of religion, inter-religious dialogue, contemporary Christian thought and ethics. The Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) 2010 Report, conducted under the auspices of the Australian Research Council, rated us as above world average in theology, with no other institution in Australia scoring higher.

We also take great pride in the quality of our teaching and our courses. Our goal is to foster a love for the academic disciplines of Theology and Philosophy, but also to provide professional and executive education for current and aspiring leaders in Catholic organisations and ministries, where issues of Catholic identity, ethos and mission are paramount. Whatever their study aspirations and career goals, our aim is to provide our students with the knowledge and skills to reflect intelligently on their own values, faith, and tradition, as well as on society and world in which we live and work.
