Assoc Prof Cal Durrant is new Director of the Literacy Research Hub

Cal has key research interest is in the areas of English literacy and technology and media education. He is also the commissioning editor for the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE) and editor of AATE’s highly acclaimed Interface series.
Established in 2010, the The Literacy Research Hub aims to develop and strengthen cross-disciplinary links across the Faculty, thereby improving the quality of research and also the number of publications in the area. The hub is home to academics from three main network areas - Language and Literacy Education, Social and Cultural Studies of Literacy and Multiliteracies.
Professor Marie Emmitt, Executive Dean of Education said, "Literacy education is a key strength of the Faculty and Cal's appointment is an important step in ensuring ongoing growth and consolidation in this area."
