Applications close for Malta Study Tour

The Faculty of Education is offering a unique study opportunity to students enrolled in undergraduate and pre-service education courses at ACU.

Education students who successfully enrol in the "Educations Systems in an International Context" elective will participate in a three week field trip to Malta (Europe) as a part of their course. There they will develop their knowledge about how social, historical and religious contexts of culture may impact schooling systems in Malta.

Students will also undertake school visits and lectures in Malta to first-hand compare and contrast international perspectives of education with their understanding of schooling systems in Australia. There will also be a range of lectures and workshops organised by guest speakers from the University of Malta, the Secretariat for Catholic Education and the Department of Education.

For 2012 the study tour will be held from the 23 November to 17 December. Approximate cost of the unit starts from $3250.00

Students wishing to enroll in this program need to submit their initial deposit of $250.00 by 31 March 2011.

The elective EDFD449 is available for Education students undertaking the Bachelor of Education (Primary), Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood and Primary), Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood) or the Bachelor of Teaching/Bachelor of Arts.

The elective EDFD549 is available for Master of Teaching (Primary), Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) and Master of Teaching (Secondary) students at ACU.
