School of Philosophy

The School of Philosophy believes it has a responsibility to provide a forum to discuss and debate the important moral and political issues that we face.

Each year the School invites highly respected national and international thinkers to participate in its conferences, seminars and public lectures.

Distinguished international guests have included Simon Critchley, Stephen Mulhall, Susan Neiman and Susan Mendus. Notable national speakers such as Robert Manne, Raimond Gaita, and Guy Rundle have also participated.

Australia needs places where good things happen in philosophy, where we can come together to think about and question the things that matter to us. It is our hope that the School of Philosophy comes to be seen as such a place.

Fortnightly Research Seminars

Each fortnight, the School of Philosophy holds a regular research seminar that unites the national ACU philosophical community via videoconference. The seminar is an opportunity for post-graduate students, staff and invited guests to present their research . . .
