Law and Business
Congratulations to our ACU Law students on winning the title of ACU Debating Competition Champions for 2015!
Organized by the ACU Student Enrichment Team, this year the ACU National Debating Competition started on the 2 September with the final held on the 22 September.
Each campus sent a team of four students to compete against other ACU campus teams. The heats and semi-finals of the debating competition were held via video conference.
The topic for the Grand Final was ‘Australia should continue to place asylum seekers in detention and process them offshore.’
Being the Negative, the Melbourne Campus Debating Team, consisted of law students Rebecca Wain (Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws), Lexie Roso (Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Laws) and Cane Thompson (Bachelor of Laws), beat the Brisbane Campus Debating Team.
Faculty member and Law Moot Master, Mr Thomas Graham QC assisted the team to prepare for the competition.
