I'm a stay at home mum with two children and have always wanted to study law. It was very daunting for me to take this decision to study but I liked the ACU environment and philosophy, hence my decision to pursue my dream.
I was very sceptical about my ability to continue studies after a very long gap, but I found the lecturers and tutors very encouraging and helpful. Being an older student I don't feel like an outsider as the campus environment is very friendly. The smaller class also encourages open discussion amongst the students and exchange of ideas.
ACU's Pro Bono aspect of the law degree stood out to me. I’ve always want to contribute to society and I think legal aid services should be accessible to everyone from any financial background. I believe the Pro Bono placement will be a good platform for me to gain hands-on experience and exposure to life as a lawyer.
The lecturers and tutors are very helpful and knowledgeable. I could just walk up to them to clear any doubts I have on a certain topic. I find the teaching staff very humble and approachable, which enables me to ask any questions on any topic. Some of the teaching staff are practising professionasl who are more than happy to share their experience about their day to day work life so you get valuable insights into that particular area of law.
The prospective students should attend the open day and feel the vibe of the campus. There are so much positivity and social activity going on in the campus. Studying law is challenging and ACU staff are always there to assist you when you need that push or motivation to continue.
