I was at another university doing a similar degree and then transferred to ACU, which has been a great experience so far. I started university straight from school and have found that it has helped me to figure out what I want to do.
I came to an experience day when I was at school and fell in love with the feeling of the campus and people. It is a very special place to be, and the small classes means that everything is very personal. The best part of this has been being able to learn so much from other students in class and their experiences as well as the lecturers who are very supportive of their students. This personalised learning and feeling of ACU is something which is not felt in any other university.
The lecturers and tutors have been so helpful and have always tailored the lessons to suit the students. As well as being very open with their industry experience, which is exactly what we as students want to know.
I have participated in the community engagement program and had the opportunity to do my engagement in a high school music program, which is what I am very interested in. The program is very flexible and allows you to choose what you’re interested in, which was the best experience.
After studying leadership and management I have learnt I am very interested in becoming a primary school teacher. I have been very lucky that the business program is very flexible and allows students to learn for their prospective careers. I would love to work in a primary school, but having a business degree behind me will open up so many opportunities for leadership or management in a school environment.
After being at a big university where I felt lost in the crowd, ACU is somewhere that I have learnt so much and had the best experiences. The lectures and tutorials which are so engaging make me want to try my best and work hard. I feel ready to tackle any challenges which I will face and am prepared for the "real world".
