Peter Faber Business School awarded prestigious international EPAS accreditation
ACU’s re-designed Bachelor of Commerce program has been recognised with the European EPAS quality label for the first time.
As part of its process to improve its national and international reputation, the School started the rigorous and complex task of applying for EPAS accreditation two years ago.
What is EPAS?
EPAS is an international program accreditation system operated by the European Foundation for Management Development. It aims to evaluate the quality of any business and/or management program that has an international perspective and, where of an appropriately high quality, to accredit it. The highly demanding EPAS standards ensure that the accredited programs are designed and delivered so that they are both academically rigorous and have practical relevance for students in today’s global environment.
EFMD announced on 14 December 2017 that it had accredited the Bachelor of Commerce for three years.
David Asch, Director of Quality Services & EPAS Director, commented:
“We are delighted to welcome the Peter Faber Business School into the EPAS community...The EPAS accreditation from EFMD is one of the most demanding yet effective ways to certify the quality of a program in the field of business and management."
In its report, the examining group noted that it had the opportunity to review a well-designed program that excels in several areas, most importantly in the key area of ethics, responsibility and sustainability. The group also commended the School for its successful transition from a multi-campus operation to a ‘national university’, with multiple campus locations.
“The Peter Faber Business School is honoured to become part of the global EPAS family. While the process was demanding, it reinforces to us the value of receiving EPAS accreditation which recognises quality in the field of business and management. We appreciate the observations and recommendations of the accreditation team which will guide further quality improvements to our Bachelor of Commerce as we seek excellence in a quality business education program. We look forward to a long a rewarding association with EFMD and EPAS,” said Professor Susan Dann, National Head of the Peter Faber Business School.
