The new Collaborate Plus purpose built coworking and innovation space opened in North Sydney in mid-June and has been accepting registrations from both internal students and external businesses.
The space is open seven days a week, and features free high-speed Wi-Fi, complimentary tea and coffee, lockers, and access to collaborative meeting spaces. It will be trialled at no fee for an initial six month period, and is open to applications from anyone working on an innovative start-up or small business.
Since mid-June, the space has been used by 19 registered businesses and students. Some of these have included tech platforms, a start-up that supports people with a disability to become entrepreneurs and a social enterprise that supports people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds to start up their own businesses.
Further innovative and entrepreneurial activities planned through the project in the coming months include:
Inspired! Leadership workshops – 9th August and 23rd August – open to all.
Start a Business workshop – 15th August – open to students.
Planning for Growth workshop – 12th September – open to students.
NDIS Kickstart for very small ventures – 20th September – open to all.
