It has been a big month for ACU’s entrepreneurship and innovation hub, Collaborate Plus, with lots of activity.
The coworking space is open seven days a week, and features free high-speed wi-fi, complimentary tea and coffee, lockers, and access to collaborative meeting spaces. It is being trialled at no fee for an initial six month period, and is open to applications from anyone working on an innovative start-up or small business.
Currently, the coworking space has 21 active participants, which include:
three ACU alumni
17 community businesses working on either start ups, or innovating their existing businesses.
Some of our participants include:
a start up focused on the international trade of Australian farm products
an existing SME (small to medium enterprise) looking to innovate their consultancy offerings in the Smart City/Internet of Things (IOT) industry.
a start up with a tech platform that connects businesses with scalable freelance teams.
In the attached Learning & Teaching space (533.G.10), we have had a number of activities over August, including:
Internal Launch & Welcome Back to Semester 2 Afternoon Tea.
‘Interchange’ Entrepreneurial Program Start Up Student tour with a group of 25 students from across various NSW universities.
Two Inspired! Leadership workshops.
Start a Business workshop for ACU students.
Paediatric Physiotherapy Practice problem based learning - Physiotherapy School.
Department of Industry visit to view the facilities and discuss the project.
The Learning & Teaching space offers a collaborative rooms set up with a Crestron Airmedia installation and LCD screens. This space is available for use by both ACU classes and external workshops that are focused around innovation and entrepreneurship.
