Professor David Greene has a 23-year association with ACU, having experienced the institution as an undergraduate student, postgraduate student, sessional staff member, and continuing staff member from 2005. He has acquired considerable experience in the School of Exercise Science, and more recently, the School of Behavioural and Health Sciences.
Professor Greene has an extensive background in musculoskeletal health with a particular focus on children and adolescents. Specifically, he has explored the impact of athletic participation on musculoskeletal health in paediatric populations across a range of bone-loading sports such as gymnastics, track and field, and horse racing. More recently, Professor Greene has broadened his research interests to include clinical populations such as people with multiple sclerosis, obese adolescents, and people with auto-immune diseases. He continues to search new opportunities to translate research outcomes into practice while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
With a formal teaching qualification and more than 25 years teaching experience, Professor Greene is passionate about effective pedagogical practices that create engaging learning experiences for all students. Professor Greene continues to explore digital learning opportunities to maximise student preparedness for the evolving workplace.
As National Head of School, Professor Greene is devoted to optimising growth opportunities among the six disciplines that comprise the national school while exploring new directions within the changing higher education sector.
