Tracey Morton, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

“I have been involved in fitness all my life. I became qualified as a personal trainer and eventually ended up doing some work experience with an occupational therapist. I found I really enjoyed it, and started thinking about studying at university.

Respect, attitude, commitment and motivation are a big part of who I am. I like that ACU shares these values and encourages us to engage with the community.

During my degree, I received the opportunity to work as a personal trainer at CPA. It’s been an amazing experience; each client I work with is extremely diverse and has a different story to tell. I find it rewarding to be able to train those with cerebral palsy and help them improve their wellbeing.

As well as my internship at CPA, I train a large group of children for athletics. It’s a lot of fun, and I enjoying passing along my knowledge to help them reach their goals.

The Elite Athletes Program has also been great. I’m a sprinter, which requires me to train a lot and has even allowed me to compete overseas. ACU has been fantastic in terms of supporting my sporting goals as well as my study goals.”
