"After I completed my Bachelor in Exercise and Sport Science I felt a little lost as to where my qualifications could take me. Applying for many jobs, I realised I needed an extra edge if I wanted to find my way in elite sport. When the Master of High Performance Sport was advertised at ACU I knew this was exactly what I needed."

"At the time there was no other course like it. I read the course outline and was excited by the subjects that were offered. Having studied my undergraduate elsewhere, I read some of the experiences from past ACU students and was pleased with their reviews of the university."

"The access to so many highly qualified sports staff including coaches, strength and conditioning staff, exercise scientists and high performances coaches. Also fantastic quality guest speakers who are known worldwide for their work in the industry."

"I couldn’t ask for better staff coordinating the course. Decades of knowledge working in the high performance industry, extremely approachable and helpful."

"Changing to online study was definitely a lot different to my undergraduate study. The pro is that you can work from home a lot of the time without getting out of your pyjamas! It is all about how much work you are willing to put in off your own motivation. All the resources you need are there but you really must be willing to put in the work to get the most out of the course."

"To capstone the master degree this semester, I undertook an internship with Melbourne Storm Rugby League Club. My role there is to work within the high performance team focusing on the area of GPS load monitoring. I attend skill/conditioning sessions and work with the exercise scientist in coordinating live feeds of GPS data and providing coaches with GPS reports post session. I am also conducting a project based around the 2014 season GPS data."

"Whilst studying the Master of High Performance Sport, I have been working at Kieser Training as an exercise scientist prescribing strength and conditioning training to people with back pain/injuries. I really enjoy the work but my career ambition is to work with elite athletes."

"Definitely the work I have been doing with Melbourne Storm. I learn something new everyday that I am there. This was confirmation for me that my true ambition was to work in elite sport."

"Don’t be afraid to take unpaid work or internships. You can learn so much from these and the experience you gain will assist with future employment. It’s a tough cookie to crack but keep persevering!"
