"I have completed a Bachelor of Science (UTS), Cert 3 in Fitness, Cert 4 in Training and Assessment and a Graduate Certificate of Exercise Science (ECU- Strength and Conditioning). I have previously worked for Ice Hockey NSW, Sydney FC (A-League), and I currently do work for Western Sydney Wanderers (A-League), Socceroos and New South Wales Rugby League (State of Origin) - all in a sports science capacity."

"I was completing a postgraduate degree at another university when I heard that the Master of High Performance Sport was being developed. My mentor was involved in its creation so I knew it would be well run and by people with many years of practical experience in the high performance field. The course offered a broader range of subjects - rather than just focusing in on one area. It's also difficult to find postgraduate studies in the field that are delivered online."

"The intensive week opened my eyes to some of the technology being used in high performance sport and research. Being able to build my own phone app blew my mind! I can see areas within the environment I am working where I can apply the practical ("real world") concepts covered in the intensive week already. Being able to meet some of the big names in sports science and have them present to us was amazing. The presenters attracted many high quality candidates for the course so you also are learning off your peers in your down time. The ACU staff are welcoming, approachable and always contactable!"

"For the past 2 years I've been working as an assistant in professional football (soccer). I felt I had the practical experience but not necessarily that higher level of knowledge that I will need as I progress in high performance sport. I also like the structure of a postgraduate degree. It keeps you on track and organised with your study by having regular targets/assessments. Being able to do it online and at my own pace from week to week whilst working full-time is a bonus. I normally set goals/targets for each week and try to complete assessments a week ahead of time."

"After completing the course I hope to branch out from football and work in a number of other sports where I can apply what I have learnt. Performance analysis and the benefits that not only athletes but coaches can gain from this area of expertise is of real interest to me."

"I would have to say working with the Socceroos has so far been the highlight of my journey. Being involved with their Asian cup preparation in Japan and then contributing to their success in the competition this year was a real joy. Not just because of the result, but because I was able to work with the elite of Australia's footballers and staff, I learnt a great deal from the experience."

"I am a member of their sports science team, looking after daily monitoring of fatigue, strength sessions and data analysis."

"Put your hand up for any opportunities that come your way even if its obscure or not in your chosen sport. In sports science I feel you can only learn so much if you stick with one sport for too long. By opening yourself up to other opportunities you can broaden your knowledge in a variety of areas and develop a positive reputation throughout the industry."
