Our health clinics

North Sydney, Strathfield, Brisbane and Melbourne

Current students have the opportunity to complete their practical rotations at our campus health clinics. They are supervised by a professionals either in the room or through high-level camera and recording equipment in another room.

Campus clinics are open to students, staff and the public. Our team of fully qualified and trainee physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, social workers and exercise physiologists offer a range of integrated services.

Our psychology clinics are located in Strathfield and Melbourne. They are specialist learning and teaching spaces offer counselling and psychological assessment to the general public at a low cost. Led by students – and supervised by active practitioners and clinicians – these clinics provide students with an intimate learning environment and allow them to give back to the community.

Our exercise physiology clinics are located at our Brisbane, Melbourne and Strathfield campuses. These clinics provide invaluable practice experience for students and high quality exercise services to staff, students and members of the public.

Paramedicine labs

Melbourne, Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra and North Sydney

Our paramedicine labs house paramedic equipment, allowing students to learn the skills needed to attend to patients in an emergency situation. The innovative design provides the perfect environment for observation and assessment by instructors as well as fellow students.

On some campuses, we even have a simulated ambulances, completely fitted out like those used by industry. Paramedics complete an ambulance driving test before graduating.


Simulation wards

Melbourne, Brisbane, Ballarat, Canberra and North Sydney

Our nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy students have access to simulation wards with leading facilities and equipment, preparing them for clinical placements.

The Melbourne wards also forms a part of the State Emergency Plan. It can be converted into a functioning hospital in the event of a catastrophic disaster.


Immersive simulation suites

Melbourne, Brisbane, Ballarat, Canberra and North Sydney

Our students also have access to immersive simulation suites. In these suites, engage in highly realistic interactions with high-technology manikins and actors to develop and practise interpersonal and decision making skills.


Biomechanics labs

Brisbane, Strathfield and Melbourne

Our exercise science students study human movement in our biomechanics labs. These labs are fitted with extremely high-tech sensors on the floor, walls and equipment. As a subject moves through the space, cameras record the muscle movement, and students then use this data to data to analyse and assess movement techniques.


Physiotherapy labs

Ballarat, Brisbane and North Sydney

The physiotherapy teaching laboratories are modern open plan facilities are furnished with state-of-the-art treatment plinths and the most up to date physiotherapy equipment. Students learn and practice the skills they require for professional practice using the latest technology.  Each laboratory has twelve plinths with web enabled computing stations and sufficient space to practice skills comfortably. The laboratories are set up to provide a therapist-patient experience similar to a professional clinic.


Occupational therapy apartments

Melbourne, North Sydney and Brisbane

Our mock apartments are fully functional and can be used by students to simulate assisting patients in modified environments. Each includes a bathroom, modified kitchen and bedroom as well as a full range of rehabilitation, ergonomic, paediatric and disability equipment.

Each apartment is also equipped with cameras, so students can participate in simulations while the rest of the class observes the interaction without being in the way.


Anatomy wet labs

Ballarat, Brisbane and North Sydney

Our anatomy students have access to anatomy labs to handle wet specimens and perform anatomical examinations.


Science labs

Ballarat, Brisbane, North Sydney, Strathfield, Melbourne, Canberra

Our science labs are used extensively by biomedical science and nutrition science students as well as others students in their first year of a health science degree. They’re fitted out with modern equipment and resources for molecular and biological sciences and most of them are newly refurbished.
